Sophia M. Tsantes is a Partner of Bouklas & Associates PLLC, practicing Wills, Trusts and Estates Law and Estate Litigation.

Sophia focuses a large part of her practice on probate and the administration of trusts and estates, being called upon to assist fiduciaries and beneficiaries with proceedings in Surrogate's Courts in the State of New York. She has extensive experience in all phases of simple and complex trust and estate administration, including probate, administration and the coordination of the transfer of assets and settling of estates and trusts.

Sophia represents clients in litigated trust and estate related matters before the Surrogate's Courts and other courts throughout New York State. Sophia's experience of litigating for nearly a decade in the New York Courts enables her to capably handle the firm's estate and trust contests, accounting proceedings, depositions and discovery, wrongful death compromise proceedings and turnover proceedings, as well as other litigation matters. Combined with an acute understanding of estate planning and administration with an intimate knowledge of the Surrogate's Court system, she represents clients in a broad range of estate and trust related litigated matters.

Sophia also has in depth experience in estate, elder and tax planning. Her estate planning expertise ranges from preparing Wills to more advanced wealth transfer techniques involving testamentary and non-testamentary, revocable and irrevocable trusts. Sophia works in close contact with clients and her colleagues to ensure that the client's intentions regarding his/her estate and the distribution of his/her assets will be effectuated as the client wishes, while taking into consideration the client's personal issues and concerns and the tax consequences associated with the estate.

Previously, Sophia acted as counsel for Travelers Insurance Company, handling a wide-variety of civil law matters as a trial attorney.

Sophia received her Juris Doctor Degree from Touro Law School in 2001, and her Bachelor Degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1997. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2002.

Sophia is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Association's Trusts and Estates Law Section, and is active in numerous community and professional organizations.
